This may be one of the original short magnums along with the 6.5RM. Both have the same water grain capacity as the 06 and are capable of excellent performance, conditionally.

Most rifles so chambered had short magazines requiring bullets to be seated deeply and that, in turn, intruded upon case capacity. (This is the same problem with the 300WSM family.) Too, barrels were usually 20", except in the more recent Remington releases. As such, velocity was less than anticipated when actually chronographed. Using longer actions and barrels, OTOH, made them only equal to existing rounds, like the 6.5-06 or 35 Whelen, both of which are superb cartridges.

That said, the 350RM is a more potent chambering than the 358Win, other things being equal, and is often had in compact rifles that are handy in brush or heavy timber. Mine is an early laminated stock Remington and has served well over the years, although, I removed the vented rib and had the bolt handle replaced with a real one after the original came off in my hand.
