No mention of red eyes or rabies......
Not a surprize, cows have been seen eating birds, nibbling on carcass's etc
All those antlers gotta come from something, grass is pretty poor in calcium.

Ive seen hedgehogs eating roadkill, and best bait in traps for them is one of their mates just about crawling out of trap box!!!! seen plenty of knawed on antlers in the scrub deer trying to get calcium back, and most animals eat afterbirth....... always thought thats 2 way thing, nutrients go back into Mum and no blood trail/scent for "wolves" to find.

Yes, many herbivores ate meat and gnaw bone and antlers as diet supplements.
Many nutrient in meat, bone or antler that are difficult to source in vegetation.
