We must be bored. I was just sitting here trying to do it with my toes, to try to out-do both of you. I'm an old Trekie from a long way back. After watching all the new sci-fi shows, those old ones look a little corny! I still watch the re-runs though.

Trying to do the Vulcan salute with your toes? O K OntheLasGallinas. Put the cap back on that bottle of whiskey and get a cup of strong hot coffee...

I've got an excuse though. I've got a broken foot. A little bird got the best of me, but that's another story.

What kind of little bird ??
Also Capt Kirk was the best captain in Star Trek EVER.

Jean Luc was full of himself, Janeway was too "moody" (but arn't all women ) and Sisko wasn't really a captain as much as field commander and even then that series was kinda 50/50 sometimes it got into the whole religion thing too much, but then again it had some great "action" shows as well and the writers idea of turning the series into alot of a "Free Tibet" thing got boring fast.
Archer was the 2nd best captain in my opinion. He played the role well.

You are right about Janeway(gotta be careful here the wife is close by!!! ) and I don't even remember Sisko and Archer. It may have gone to cable by then and we did not subscribe.

Sisko was between Jean Luc and Janeway, Star Trek Deep Space Nine.
While Archer was the newest Star Trek Enterprise, it had alot of promise but did just as well as Star Trek TOS (The Original Series) did.

I better be careful talking about birds, damn near all of them are protected.
I had a pair of little barn swallows (I think that's the kind that build the mud nests) building a nest on my front porch. I don't know if you know much about them, but they make a mess (mud and bird s**t). I decided that I was going to flip on the porch light and smack those little suckers with a stick. Well, I flipped on the light, temporarily blinding them and swung my stick, only to find out that my stick was too short (ok, no wise comments guys). So, in an act of last minute desperation, I lunged forward about a foot (the distance I figured that I needed to gain to smack those little suckers). Well my door step only reached out another 4 inches. My heal caught on the edge of the porch and my foot (I was bare footed) slipped off of the edge and dropped about one foot down. My toes landed straight down and folded under. I sprained every toe and broke the foot bone that corresponds to my little toe in about 3 places. Before the pain set in, I set the bone and bound it where it couldn't move. My wife was visiting the kids up in Denver at that time, which is good. She has an RN degree and would have made me go to the doctor. Anyway, I'm wearing a walking boot that is made for a broken foot.
My wife got mad and me for not going to the doctor. I told her that I already know what he's going to say. He'd say you've got a broken foot. Hell, I already knew that, I could hear the bones crunching when I was setting it. The last time I gave in and had a broken bone X-rayed, the doctor asked who set it. I told him that I did. He told me that I missed my calling. I did a perfect job. I've always been a good ranch vet.
Anyway, the birds were so terrified at the screaming monster that plunged out the door waving the stick that they flew off and never returned.

So what your saying is Cary, that in the end your actions worked!
And as they say "The end justifies the means"

We actually liked Avery Brooks better as Hawk in the series Spenser! He was the best part of the show. I do remember the Deep Space 9 series and it was very good!!
Cary, I guess you taught those birds a thing or two! I don't mind seeing wild life around, but they can get too close to home!! Birds are especially messy!!!
