ARRGGG!!!! Mad Mad

I keep getting lines in the finish from my finger prints. No matter what I do they keep showing up. I had one coat that looked pretty good but my so came home from work and decided to pick one up to see why it looked wet.

I need some suggestions here! I don't remembering it being this hard.

I finally got them done!!!!! It took a lot of patience but I finally got a blemish free finish. They would have been done a while ago but my son decided to pick one up about an hour after I applied what I thought would be final coat. Well that caused some prints that were very hard to get rid of. Then I found a hair in one of the grips so that had to come out, I screwed up there and got a nice bubble in them after that. I learned a couple lessons the hard way..... again. But in the end I am very happy with the outcome. Very Happy

Looks good. Whenever I'm building up a finish and something (fingerprints) happen I just chalk it up to one more for the dead flat treatment. Resand-Recoat-Repeat.

They look real sweet Wiersy...you have done a great job on them.

Do you find that they have a tendency to slip excessively in your hand under recoil mate?

Cheers, Vince

I haven't fired it since I got the grips done.

A lot of patients and licking, my taste buds will grow back some day.

i thought about your "cheating" comment while driving back from a job today. it reminded me of something my grandma used to say. she was raised in the arkansas hills and knew how to survive and enjoy just about any circumstances. later she moved to kansas city to a b-25 plant where she was a rosy the riveteer. All her people had a sense of humor that just wouldn't quit. "If ya ain't cheatin ya ain't tryin" I think that works in your context.
