Paul, you hit the nail on the head there. These days people seem to have been taught that the Constitution "gives" them their rights when in fact it only recognizes that they ALREADY have those rights and restricts the Federal govt from messing with them.

Yep! Too bad it isn't working that way for us...
I just keep remembering that the first political revolution occurred in the third century BCE in Sumer over taxation without representation and the removal of the rights of its citizens. The king was deposed and the people regained their rights. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
