Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope all is well with him.
Which area were you hunting?

As much as all of us would love pics and the stories behind them, your dad is certainly a priority. No worries on getting to it any time soon. Take care of your dad and when things settle down then give us the details.
11,800 feet is getting up there. Even growing up around here and spending time in the mountains the air starts to feel pretty thin hiking around above 10K+.
At 12,200 it wouldn't be the third highest in the state though. There are close to 20 peaks that break 13K in the Uintah range, including the highest, Kings Peak.
How long has the Beaver area been open? I didn't even know they had Mt. Goat in that part of the state...

I can only add that I think you also have a special relationship with our Saint-Hubertus.
You see what can happen when you "listen to the force"...

I wish I had been there as your gun bearer mate...that area looks magnificent. |
You ever get to the US for a trip or something hollar, I can give you a few magnificent places to drive through 99.99999 of the populace doens't know about.

That goat is simply outstanding and I don't think I've ever seen a happier and more satisfied hunter than Heather in the pics. |
Yep, everything about it was "fun". My brother before we went out gave advice to not feel like we have to work so hard at it, it wouldnt be fun. He said he'd rather have a nice goat next to a road than one 1/2" bigger dead 2 canyons over". I agree

What are your plans for the animal? Is the meat good? Will you get the head mounted? Will you have the skin tanned? |
My brother is actually one of the top taxidermists in our state, he's offering to cut me a really good deal on a life sized mount. So currently that's the plan with it. The cape and head is in his freezer atm, he's been out of town all week.
My wife has to fill out a mandatory harvest survey and send in 2 teeth to verify age... apparently they want the scoring measurements of the horns which I didnt take, so when he gets around to working on it I'll have to run down and measure it. I'm hopeful it will at least make the B&C awards, I'd love to surprise my wife with that news.
