You are right Bushy, I also have an A-bolt /06 and love it, granted I love technology but if they discontinue the A-bolt it would not make any sense to me as the A-bolt is a proven design.

I wanted to buy my youngest an A-bolt and also seen (Like Bushmaster said) nothing listed for the /06.

Omini
Welcome back . Haven't seen you on any threads .
I too noticed the A bolts were drying up . Understood Browning was going to continue with the two product lines , but they seem to have a real push on the X bolt .
You may have to look for dealer stock to still get the A bolt you want .

I've shot the X and A bolt side by side at the range. Identical guns except being X & A. I will take my Abolt anyday. I think my trigger was better than the X and was more accurate. I don't like the plastic mag on the X either. The one plus is being able to open the bolt with the safety on

I just read and watched what Browning has on their site about the X-Bolt..........they sure make it sound better !!!

Does anyone know for sure if they plan to phase out the A's ???

Why does it matter if the bolt opens with the safety on?

I know of a lot of "Plain Jane" rifles and I'll take my "Plain Jane" Hunter any day...
