I've got a problem.....

Its dark, after legal hunting time, and your surrounded by does. How do you get the does to leave so you can go home without spooking them and getting your stand location burned? Today i tossed my water bottle about 20 yards and the noise ran them off. What would you do?

Wait for them to leave, or make some kind of funny noise. I have had deer come into my bait pile, and I waited for them to leave. Take a little nap.

Actually you can just leave and not worry. They will return! I have shot deer out of a stand in the evening and came back the next morning and taken another!! Very Happy

Vint is correct.
I think that with all of the hunting rags out these days, a guy reads too much, and gets too complicated.
Deer are smart, but not as smart as written about.
I would get down from the stand slowly, so as not to spook them, but I wouldn't get too carried away about it.
How many times I have shot a deer, and had the rest of the bunch trot about 20yds, and stood and watched me, I don't want to count.

I just hit my grunt call, if that don't work I snort at them, they'll scatter. I agree that Deer don't remember unless you spook them every time, then they might pattern you and wait to come in after dark.

Wrong stand location........

Waitin' for 'em where they'll be after shooting light borders on non productive.

Find the staging area where they'll hang out before it gets dark, and the trails leading in.................
