Sorry I missed your post. I used to hunt deer in the Adirondack mountains when I was a teenager. How did your hunt go?

We had a good trip, it rained saturday a.m. so we took a ride to the Adack. museum in Blue Mtn. cool place. No bears but we saw lots of ruffed grouse. The fall color was great. It was nice to be someplace quiet.

One of the benefits of hunting. The Adirondack colors are great in the Fall! Glad you enjoyed the trip.

Flyinlizard, I know this is a little late, but you brought back some great memories for me. We hunted early bear for many years back in the 70's and 80's. The last week in Sept. the leaves were changing it was nature at its finest. 4 days of glory, away from the city.... peace and quite. When we got to Indian Lake we checked in with the ranger station east of town and then the trek over that logging road to Cedar River Flow where we camped. If the road was grated you could make time, but if it wasn't it never ended.
Although we never seen a bear, the closest we came to one was a steaming pile of poop in the middle of the road we were heading down. You never seen 4 guys baleout of a truck so fast too check it out. It was a huge pile, black and hairy and I didn't have my camera with me.
There's nothing like the mountains, the seasons.... I'm getting sick just talking about it.
Thanks for the memories.... Carl
P.S. There's one thing we did very well.... and that was eat.

I lived in Potsdam, NY, for a few years and the Blue Mountain Museum was one of my favorite places to visit. The Adirondack Mountains carry many of my footprints
