Well tell that 4X4 (not counting eye guards) to quit sleeping in my pasture under that big oak. He just watches me walk by. I even talk to him and he doesen't move...
Being stealthy when hunting animals that are color blind is just an attempt to blend in by breaking up your body lines. It doesn't matter if you are wearing camo green or camo bright orange. Or, for that matter, red and black plaid...Moving slowly, as quiet as the dry leaves will let you using all the natural cover you can. And not to silhouette yourself against the sky line or solid colored backgrounds...(and never talk to yourself)

Good one Joe. I too wear camo when I am out hunting. I do have an ulterior motive though.....I get the stuff for nothing and when I rip/tear it I can do a one for one swap for new stuff.
The art of camouflage is one that most soldiers are taught, but few really grasp totally. Mention was made of snipers....well they have their Gillie Suits that they make (1,000 times better than the commercially produced ones) and they are masters of the art. I have had a sniper move into position approximately 30 metres in front of me and lay there for an hour or more and didn't pick him. When we were told he was there we still couldn't find him until he showed himself....he was SF though. The things that you must consider are Shape, Shine, Sillouette, Smell, Movement and Noise. Any one of these things will give you away to your quarry.
Way I figure it, camo/BDU/Checked outfits all break up your surface pattern so colour blind or not, you will be a little more difficult to see.
Cheers, Vince

Well I cant stand the cold so never tried a ghille suit and I dont believe I'd be able to wear it unless it was the middle of winter. Dont like hot weather or too much clothing and making me feel hot.

From the looks of things. Joe doesn't have much to do to complete his "bush" look. Is Maryland a long ways away from Missouri?? Good...Whew...I'm safe then...
Just for the record...I, too, own some Army camo and would use it where I figured I wouldn't run into some idiot that may "sound shoot". When I'm dressed like a "bush" I also have an orange vest that I can put on if I see too many other people in my area until I can get farther away from them.

In all honesty, we were about 10 minutes just catching our breath ( and I for one was giving silent prayers of thanks) when we'd paddled back into the "no fire zone" Then we just paddled farther up the main river and took a different tributary. Most of our excitement for the hunt was gone for that particular evening mind you.

I still have some of my camo from the Army but it doesn't fit anymore
We are required to wear a vest or hat of orange If it's private land I'll just wear the hat if it's public I wear the vest, ya never no what bone heads are out there. My hats and vest that are orange are the blaze /camo to keep my outline broken up. I like's my Camo
