Elvis,
Thanks for all the great ideas. I'm not positive about the primer dents, but the cases have already been cleaned and reloaded. I'll make sure I keep an eye on that when I'm at the range. I cleaned the firing pin hole. The action closes very positively whether or not it's closed hard, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on the release lever when I'm shooting. If I can I'm going to the range again today. Maybe I'll prime some empty resized cases and try firing those before I head to the range. It might be a waste of primers, but it also may give me a better idea of what's going on.
Thanks,
Don

I sprayed the firing pin hole and then put a few drops of Kroil in there. I also marked the action release with a pencil and should be able to tell if it's not locking in the same position each time. I primed 6 resized cases and tried them. Not one failure to fire! I'm hoping I have a similar experience at the range later.

Much better time at the range, no failures to fire. What made the difference I don't know, but I'm happy with the results anyway. Three shot groups at 100 yards with 130gr. loads were about an inch. I'll take that!
Thanks for the ideas guys!

BB, glad to hear the good news? Did you leave the spur on?

Thanks guys. I left the hammer spur off. With the scope and mount that are on it I have no need for it anyway.
