Alright Dimitri's in charge of the refreshments and you better bring lots cause 10ring sounds thirsty, 10ring you make up the invitation list and the invitations and send them out, I'll bring some of my deer/pork sausage and some T-bones for the bbq. What else do we need ............ Hmmmmmmm ....... I wonder what Vince is going to be able to bring. It better be water proof cause it's a long swim for him to get there. Say............. Vince can sing so now we have the entertainment. What are we missing............?:rofl2: |
I can sing.....WOO HOO...
Whooaa; he stuck his nose up a billy goats butt,
The stink was enough to blind him,
He pulled its tail and got covered in s**t,
From the girl he left behind him.
I do so enjoy a song every now and again.
Now, what should I bring to the party......well, a slab or three of "barbed wire" (XXXX)....6 dozen cans should do I think, a bottle or two of Bundaberg Rum plus a bottle of Inner Circle OP Rum (that stuff will make a Willy Wagtail fight an Emu), oh yeah and a bottle of good Single Malt Scotch Whisky...maybe Lagavulan or Glenmorangie or if I can get it, St Dominie.
Now, when does the party start?
Its going to be one helluva swim with all that under me arms. Hey I know how:
But seriously, Bushy old mate, I can't give you enough good wishes for your retirement. And as the Scots say.... Lang may yur Lum reek.
I have left a longer note in one of the other posts....buggered if I can remember which one though...I think I'll have another scotch.
Cheers, Vince

OK...found it. I put a copy here because it is the more appropriate place for it.
Congratulations on your retirement Bushy. Word of advice from someone who is there already....stay out of your wife's way. You have had a routine at work and she has had her routine at home. Now you will be trying to slot into her routine and chances are she ain't gonna be comfortable with it. I know my missus wasn't. Took a LONG time to re-educate both of us.
Damn it got boring quickly....there are only so many things you can do more than once. Luckily you have Cutter, so you can get out there and enjoy his company and the great outdoors. Keep your mind active, as it has been for so many years. I see all too often old mates from the Army who have retired and gone to an early grave because they vegetated away to nothing, or drank themselves into a grave.
Mate, I hope you and your lovely wife enjoy your retirement together, where ever you decide to settle. You could always become a Grey Nomad, as we call them over here, spending your kids inheritance.
Cheers, Vince

Vince...My wife wishes to thank you for that note of advice and now expects me to abide with it. Plus...She expects me to leave the house at 7:00 AM and not return until 4:30 PM every day...
Thanks to all for the good wishes. I have already notice one benifit...I have been able to cut back on my antacids....

Bushmaster- Congratulations on your retirement.
As I am getting close to that golden age, I had mentioned retirement to my wife. Her only comment was "I married you for better or worse, not home for lunch".
Enjoy your retirement.
