[align=justify]Hey kids!
And BUSHY....
Still slaving away, eeking out a living here on the mountain.
Quail season was a total bust. No birds in the bag. Saw a TON. Just was either too slow or it was too thick. So it goes. (shut up BUSHY.... )
Started shootin and reloadin on a more regular basis though. And, started shooting USPSA matches. I shoot in the Single Stack division. Old school, Govt. Models only. Not a fan of the hoser-guns like the big boys use- they clean courses so fast, is it even fun for them? SS Div. is incredible fun, LOT's of mag swaps. I just started so am still learning the ropes, but am progressing fast.
So- we did some stuff to old Slabsides. Used to be my go-to indoor/shoot house CQB/night-fight weapon...not no more. The rules are pretty tight in what you can do, and what your can have on your hip (and location) so we did same up to the limit pretty much.
Had to delete the light rail, that was a violation of the rules.
Swapped recoil and main spring, for lighter ones and added a recoil buffer on the guide.
Swapped main spring housing, from arched to flat with a small well.
Mag release button and extension.
Sights: from Novak's with Tritium inserts to a Caspian Bomar target adjustable rear with a Brazos front with red fiber optic insert.
New grips with more aggro Starburst pattern- way more grippy when sweaty w/o tearing up the hands.
Slightly extended mag bumpers for more positive insertion.

Oh- and here's a pic of my rig. Double Alpha Academy belt, Safariland mag holders, BladeTech holster. Nothing can be further than 2" from the inside of the belt, and, all gear has to be behind the hip bones. Way WAY fun stuff!

Good to see you are still with us Stovey...I miss your repartee mate. Really happy to hear that your shop is going well too mate...that's a real bonus in this day and age.
It's good to see you are still embracing the shooting sports mate...even if the quail don't wanna play wiv ya (or maybe they are )I gave up pistol shooting 8-9 years ago now, but I must admit, I still miss shooting IMHSA with my 10 inch BBL 30.30 TC Contender...loved that match.
That badge on ya belt concerns me a bit though mate.

Yup...Was wonderin' where ya were. Horses are up to their knees in "road apples". Fences need work. Need to get winter hay in too.
Sure is hell when the birds are smarter then the shooter and he has to go to targets that don't move.
Love your Series 80. Looks real nice. Yes...Very nice.

Thank you one and all! From living in literally HELL (Ca. - trying to ban everything but pot and illegals), to doing my own thing, living almost off the grid, and alone, etc. Somehow things came together. I got zero money, used to have a lot, but I don't care. Lot to be said for quality of life! Sorry for the HUGE pics....ooops. Fixed.
Hillary badge/buckle was a JOKE. It's not a target. You'd do well NOT to shoot at it while I'm wearing it, not as slow as I used to be!
Grips are by CoolHand. I got them from Eazypeachy, an ebay retailer. Great customer service. $45.00 deilvered for G10 grips!
Comin' right over after'n I git my foot outa this badger trap Bossman. Sleep walkin' again. Stalls and barn right as rain in no time...Pichfork ta be flyin' ASAP.

Well, I couldn't take the 'clown barf' grip panels on slabsides anymore. So I finally found a set of these online and slapped them on. Pretty popular model of COLT Gold Medallion grips in Rosewood, but they have a border line cut. Really fancy....and it distracts from the patina and crap all over this well used work horse. Soon, it will all blend together...look closely and you can see my fingerprints in the front strap where the blue wore off.

Made some changes to Thumper, too.....(scratch-built 50 Beowulf project)
UTG pan bi-pod...not bad for as cheap as it it! And, the other optics went BUH-BYE! and KB'd during a sesson....so we upgraded to the Bushnell AR optic with the T-Dot. Sposed to be recoil proof. Yeh, we'll see about that! Buwahahahaha....

But wait, there's more!
We are in monsoon season. So the range's pistol bays has been washed out for the past week....rifle range is open.
So the director was organizing a pop-can match. 6 on a string, 100y.
I knew just the rifle....the bunny-buster! M&P 15-22. But, only had a red dot on it....well, that wont work. It's 5 MOA. Pop can is about 3.5.
So- I got my old air rifle from under the work bench, took the 3X scope of it, got some 1" Pic rings, slapped it on there....viola! 100y pop-can smasher.
Why a .22LR you ask? Easy- the event is timed. Faster recovery. And, less splash.
