I have this rifle, but the firepin broke. The rifle was manufactured app 1875. Any ideas who will be able to help me with information on this? Shocked

take it to your local gunsmith.dont muck around and risk damageing it by D.I.Y. GOOGLE it for more info on it there is sure to be info out there.

Find a GOOD old school gunsmith- the best! That unit deserves it. There's some vid's on u-tube.

Broken firing pin? All's lost. Might as well junk it. Out of the goodness of my heart, I'll take it off your hands so it won't clutter up your rack. I'll even pay shipping...such a nice guy I am. Cool

Seriously, you have a piece of history besides being a very interesting firearm. Do as the others have suggested and only let someone who really knows what they are doing work on it. It may cost a bit, but it is well worth it. Do keep us informed as to how you make out.

I would think anybody with a lathe could fashion one. Don't know where you'd get the pattern from, but I'd guess the broken one might be enough. Maybe a custom pistol builder? Those guys do some all out manufacturing.Here's a pistol guy that really does some interesting stuff.
