I'm still reading all the fine print but it seems that a bill just signed by the Gov. (Gotta admit I'm surprised she signed!) has improved NC's gun laws.

The law as originally written was better but we'll take what we can get, for now.

Bushy, nope. There was something in the original bill that said you could carry in a place that served alcohol as long as you weren't drinking but that got cut. That means that, even though I don't drink, I can't carry in most restaurants.

Missouri passed the law lowering the age from 23 to 21 and allowing those with CCW permits able to enter taverns, bars and cocktail lounges. Resteraunts and other places that serve alcohol AND partake of same. We can even make a fool of ourselves. As long as the gun isn't flaunted we're OK...We can even protect ourselves as long as we can pass the blood/alcohol test.
Missouri really does trust it's citizens. It's not even a felony to get caught carrying in a state building. Just told to leave. If you don't you are charged with "trespassing"...

Wow....here (as you prob. know Bushy) you can go into an establishment that serves alcohol but you're not encouraged to sit at the bar of a restaurant, or drink. They don't condone going to a bar while carrying either. Yeah I'd say Missouri is pretty trusting. Missouri says you can drink, but you have to pass the blood/alcohol test? That's sort of like a dinner drink, not a beer fest drink.

Suz...It's nice to be able to have a beer before dinner and a glass of wine during dinner and maybe a cocktail (shot of whiskey)(wife drives) after dinner. If I haven't shot anyone during dinner all is good.
Use to be that you couldn't really enjoy your meal. Now you can.

Bushster it would be against the law if you drank that much and tried to drive home with out your designated driver, but if you shot your wife at dinner it'd be even harder to get home.
