There is joy in the village. Bin Laden is dead. Killed by US forces and he is floating around the bottom of the sea when he can do no more harm. So much for his virgins in heaven!
Now we will see how many of Bin Laden’s S-Rats start their campaign of terrorism in retribution for their leader being brought to justice. All be it not really like the world would have had it in a court of law but maybe it is for the best for civilized society to have criminals killed outright.

Yeah Inthedark, I bet that's how the military thought of it too. Could you imagine taking him prisoner and putting him in a prison awaiting civil trial in New York?, you know, sort of Obama style?

You open a good subject Suz. I have had the priviledge of serving in four different military organizations, Canadian Forces- Canadian Army and (Royal) Canadian Air Force, and US Army and US Air Force. In the Canadian Forces we are trained to carry out our tasks in a professional manner and to set aside our personal feelings. We defend our lives and the lives of our comrades and others that we have the power of life and death over first and formost. Yes we all speak with bravado of our prowness of being a master of arms but we are trained and in my case was trained to protect life and perserve property.

I would pray that Seal Team 6 did what they could to preserve Osama Bin Laden's life but the circumstances did not present themselves to do that and Bin laden had to be killed. I am second guessing Seal Team 6 and the loss of Osama Bin Laden being held up in a fair and open court to answer to his war crimes has been lost to the world.

Am I happy that the Mother F****r is dead, damn right. He attacked the free world in New York City not just America but the whole free world and anyone who thinks otherwise has only buried their head in the sand. A very dangerous thing to do. We all can only hope that now that the head of the snake has been severed that other heads do not appear. God bless all the people that helped bring Bi Laden to justice and esopecially Seal Team 6 for doing their job of protecting all our freedom.

Good and very sage words ITD.

I feel certain that any "right minded" Court would have found him guilty of causing the death of many thousands of innocent non combatants, which makes him a murderer.

Unfortunately, I think OBL was, more than anything, the "bank roll" for Al Quaeda. The real mastermind behind the attacks is still alive (Adnan Shukrijumah) and no doubt planning for the future. Another one to be wary of is Abu Hamza al-Muhajir.

Only time will tell who will become the new leader of Al Quaeda.

Cheers, Vince

Abu Hamza al-Muhajir was killed in 18 April of 2010 at Tikrit Iraq in battle with US/Iraqi forces.
