Seriously though...I always take a ground sheet to the range with me for that very reason...I like to shoot prone when I can...and its not always the ground being wet that is a problem...you can bet your bottom dollar that there will always be a green ant nest right near where I go to ground, and thems buggers bite is like a wasp or hornet sting. At least with a ground sheet I can see them comin'.

Now...sumfin else...I'm intrigued...well confussalated to be exact...what in blue blazes is "horn-toad-n-fireant"???

Yeah re-mount the scope, I agree, he has no patients and I have no patients for him having no patients, so I doubt that's gonna get done, but being that far off at like 20ft to the target, that's a lota dial turnin. Could be that his scope rings or base was loose too, I didn't check.

He's actually a very spoiled kid (again I say at 30yrs old) and I like to let him stew, get that meat more tender than it already is, till I poke him with my fork. If he's around here this summer I'll teach him a few things, but right now it's too freeeeekin cold to mess around much outdoors. We were out there in freezing weather the other day for about 4 hrs and that was enough for me.

He called me up the other day and said he'd discovered a lazer bore sighter and wanted to buy it. It was going to be his saving grace, but I told him to save his money. There's cheaper ways. Thing is tho. you can't sight down his bore by eye because after you take the bolt out.....well it's like a Ruger 10-22, it's not, but it's built like that. It's a blow-back and you can't see down the bore. But he can get shots on paper and that's all you need to do with a bore sight anyway. If he sticks around we'll get it figured out...he'll do the work tho.

hey lovely Suz, did you have a good look at the mounting rings? Sometimes someone is sooo clever NOT to put the bolts of the mountingrings on the same side and that's asking for such trouble.
But wise men often don't want advice, certainly when they are still young...

Yeah Aloys we're getting to look at everything. It's up to him now. He's busy trying to get a job right now, but our next outing might bring up some answers.

Although I shoot a high-price ammo .17 center fire, I LOVE shooting these little bullets. Hope you have a BLAST with it Suz.

Ok Ok I broke down and bought a bore sighter......my nephew can use it I guess. I got a scope for my pistola and can't bore sight it with my other laser cause it's made for a rifle cartridge set-up. Had to buy a mandrel type sighter. Works a treat (got that expression from Vince). I think my nephew got a job too! He goes for drug test tomorrow then orientation, then next week training. Yah!! He's never stuck with a job for long but I think he will now.
