So far it look like the Republicans have picked up 6 Senates and 60 house seats with 20 or so seats in dispute still... On a bad note My state still has Gay Barney....

Just voted out them 3 state supreme justices that passed the gay marriage law, good.

Now maybe they start listening to what the people want, not what the court wants.

Omni, I understand that gay marriage is a hot topic but I just want to say a couple of things:
1. We rarely choose who we love - the same is true with gays.
2. When we enter a life-long loving relationship we expect marriage to be a part of that.

Now a couple of questions - they are rhetorical and do not require answers to me:
1. do you consider marriage a right (religious or otherwise) or a privilage?
If you said privilage what would you do if the government said you no longer had it?
2. Rights apply equally to all people or they apply to none.

I am a minister and I perform ceremonies for my congregation and others from outside it. I have no question that marriage is a right - like owning guns or free speech. If the government can deny one right - they open the door to take them all.
Calling it "Life partners" is the same as saying that rights don't apply to some people. 150 years ago it was blacks, then it was those pesky irish, then the Chinese, now it is gays and Muslims.
Rights MUST apply to everyone - even the ones we don't agree with.

PaulS, I agree with you on this.
Coming from Asian country, we tends to have an open mind on the topic of homosexuality.

IMHO those who are homophobic are similar to those who fear guns because it COULD kill.
Generalisation based on a "believe" is what causes the world instability.

Viz,
Christians "believe" that Moslems are bad..
Moslems "believe" that Christians are bad..
Catholics "believe" that Protestants are bad and vice versa..
Hitler's Germany "believe" that Jews are bad..
Mixed couples "believe" that Gays are bad..
Beer drinkers VS wine drinkers VS spirit drinkers..
Non Shooters VS shooters..

There are enough fractions in the world out there, lets not add to it based on "believe"..
