Runners?

Anybody run in this forum? If there isn't I promise not to bring it up again but just curious if anyone stays in shape. I run 5 miles about 3 times a week and am doing occasional 5k's. Last weekend I finished in 22:30 @7:18 a mile. Just trying to keep my old legs moving.

Staying in shape is a good thing. I don't run any more because its too hard on my knees and ankles. Its been a long time since I did a mile under 8 minutes. Congrats!! I cycle and try to go for long-duration rides working up to 100K by mid-summer. I also row byt getting onto the water is becoming less frequent.

I'd say you're doin pretty good with the time, there's a lady at work that runs marathons here and she just did an average of about 8min./mile

I don't run long distance. Always figured that humans weren't designed to run for very long. All you need to be able to do is run a full sprint for a quarter mile to outrun the dinosaur. If not...You were "food".

I do, however, do a lot of hiking in the local foot hils around here with a younger guy. I did 6 miles two days ago.

Walking is a much better mode of transportation than running.
