I made a very useful modification to the online web version of PointBlank.
Before there was no way to store off the results so you couldn't link them to another person / website or whatever. This has now changed. When a trajectory is computed, it literally writes the image file out to the server and then links to that image when it displays the results. This means you can compute a snazzy trajectory for your new WizBang rifle, and post the results on other websites or send them to friends! Its a little free advertising for HuntingNut as I put a little info in the upper left corner where the image was generated from.
The images are pretty tiny, 19k each in size. I've set it to recycle images after a certain time, so we don't totally fill up the web server. So I set it to 9999 images before the counter loops and begins overwriting 0001 for example.
As a bonus, this will also reduce server load if lots of people are computing ballistics.
Here's an example of the new image you can link.
I need to add the angle calculation code from the PC version to the online version so people can calculate trajectories shot at angles.

Oh yea and I have made alot of progress on the new PC version. Got a few more things to address then I think we'll release it as a wide / open beta test. Its a piece of cake to release new versions now with the auto-patcher ability.

Dallan you are awesome!!!! I am amazed at your dedication to the software and this site. I think you'll actually figure out how to compensate for the "old man shake" someday. You're great your work is greatly appreciated.

Added in the Angle calculation code, results show up in the table. I need to draw it on the trajectory as well maybe? Dunno how interested people are in that.

It might be interesting to see it in the trajectory if its not too difficult.

Hi, there.
Thanks for a great job!.
Anyway, is it possible to add an option for input and output in metric units?
Thanks in advance.

Being new to HuntingNut, and working with the original PointBlank software, I am thoroughly excited for the new release.
I love that the original software will allow a user to document where fired shots hit the targets at a specified distance, and that the trajectory profile and target can be printed. I print these to PDF and keep a logbook of various combinations of powder and bullet. Also, the easy-to-modified databases (.txt files) for powerder etc is the most convenient feature.
Your time and effort are appreciated more than you know.
