Bought my 2 kids new hunting rifles today. Marlin XL7's in 270 winchester. They both wanted 270's. Got them at bass pro shops for $279 each. Just gotta get them scopes now. They still gotta wait till Christmas to try them out. Shocked Very Happy

Fantastic! I'd love to hear a report on the Marlins after you get a chance to shoot them some.

Ha Ha. Seems like a family tradition now for my daughter 15 and son 12 to get firearms for Christmas. Last year they got mossberg 500's in 12 gauge and my boy also got a marlin model 60 in 22LR.

Good for you and their intrest in shooting. Too many kids today only want electronic junk. I remember wishing for bikes and guns and ammo and boots etc. Every year I'd get a new pair pof hunting boots, wren't nohting fancy but it was a tradtion sort of. We'd have Xmas at the grandparents in the desert and go out to the backyard and try out new guns or bikes or puppy's etc. in the morning.

And don't use yer lil sis's old doll for a target. They WILL mind, even if they got a new one from Santa. Lost my shootin' privy's for a while over that one. Embarassed
