I dont know how many people here visit our hosted Articles, but there have been some fantastic articles submitted lately. One I found extremely interesting as I had planned to write the exact same guide! Using a scopes subtend for ranging / aiming.

Bullet Drop Compensation with Duplex Reticles

Anyway check out the article lists from time to time, They are on the left block under Articles: Topics. Also, if you would like to try writing up an article or story, feel free!

That Argentina Bird Hunt story was pretty cool.

Over 21,500 shells?

Stovepipe,
I dropped by this thread this afternoon and cought your question. The answer is Yes
If you enjoy wing shooting there are two premier places in the world, South America and South Africa. I have had the good fortune to shoot both places.

In South America, the outfitters have "magazines" for ammo storage and buy shells in million round truck loads. It is not unusual for a shooter on a hot rock quest to push 2-3,000 rounds in a single day, or shoot to you drop. If you have 7-8 shooters in a hot spot, they can easily run 20,000 rounds in 5 to 7 days and much more if they are on a quest to break records. Most wing shooters would be very happy to get "stuck" in Argentina.

Many of the outfitter have clubs, like the 1,000, 1200, 1500, 1700 etc club which is the number of birds shot in a single day

Remember here, the birds are vermin and crop distroyers, so the shooters are paying a fee to help the grain farmers rid their fields of critters that take 25% of their crops per year and multiply like rats. The farmers get a heafty cut of the fee which helps offset their losses. Very Happy
Best,
Ed

Man that's a LOT of shooting...oof , my shoulder! I almost thought that was a typo. Laughing Million round shipments? We need some of that over here! Smile

I was just taking a break from reloading and watching VS and there was a bit on patridge shooting in Italy ( I think?) where the gun bearers were rotating doubles as fast as the shooter could empty them. It was like a shooting gallery with drivers flushing the birds. Man them tubes must be hot.

My hat is off to you and those that can take it to that level for sure. I really fancy wingshooting over everything pretty much and am humbled by these numbers and what I saw. I'd probably lock up from sensory overload in that situation.

And I wonder if there's a way to get paid to shoot some of them birds, work a deal with a local farmer?

I'm in the wrong line of work and need to move!!! Very Happy

Good input and thanks for the post.
