I have been loading for several .223s for a number of years. My best is a Winchester Model 70 Lightweight carbine and is used for groundhogs. My preference has been IMR4895, Winchester primers and 55 grain spitzers and have not found a reason to change. All the best...

Congrats on getting your new .223. There is a lot of things to consider to obtain the best accuracy. I load 55 gr.v-max using Varget. Have had good luck with it. I preferr neck sizing over full length. Finding the the Over All Length is also important. Stoney Point makes tools for this.
Overall a lot of field testing loads is needed. But then thats alot of fun.

I love the 223, I shoot it more then the 22-250 and it will reach out there perty darn good. My favorite loads are 55 gr. bullet (Hornady) with H322 powder or since it is getting hard to find H322 powder my backup is 4320.

WW 748 with a 50 gr Sierra Blitz or Blitzking or a Hornady 50 gr Vmax.
