Wow well our mother company did layoffs across the board in all their subsidary companys... luckily I was one that kept my job. Unfortunately the decision was made to merge mine, and a sister company into a single entity. This is still on going as they work out relocation (just down the street) as well as re-tasking.
Its a real pain in the butt and stressful but at least I still have a job.

The good news is you have a job even with all the headaches and stress of combining a two operations....a lot have already and a lot more will feel that pain soon.
The bad news is you will not have a big block of time on your hands to finish smoothing out Bugs in Pointblank v2.0

Good for you Dallan.
I went through that in the Mining Industry during the last big recession in the early '80's.
I kept my job also, but it was pretty stressful.
I was single then, so fishing, hunting, and drinking kept me steady and ready.

The place where I pretend to work is hiring folks as they claim we're about to go under... go figure!

We're lucky down here. All three major Texas markets (San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas/Fort Worth) exibited growth last year and are still growing, with San Antonio leading the nation. We are really busy down here.
My company, because of our 70 plus offices across the nation, sent out an email saying that there will be no raises or bonus money given out until further notice. That's fine with me, as long as the corporate executives for-go their raises and bonus's also.

We run a small antiques and collectibles business and while sales are down we feel blessed that the business is still going! Business would be better if we could find the items to sell, but most of it is going across the pond so the source is drying up. Good luck to all of you folks who are under the lay off hammer!!!

That's great to hear Dallan.
But, I think we have not yet seen the worst of what is coming. I pray to God that I'm wrong, but my gut tells me different.
Anyway, keep on impressing them, and you'll be OK.
My prayers are with you.

Glad to hear you are OK.
Our company has had a series of layoffs since last August and our department lost a position. All salaried folks took a six percent pay cut. The hourly staff has had their hours reduced one-half hour per day. I am glad to still be working. All the best...
Gil
