When I was a first year journeyman mechanic I pit crewed for a man who raced a 650 Gold star BSA. You want to go back a few years? He won Oregon State Champion in 1962, if memory serves, at Grants Pass in the TT Improved Scrambles...Hows that Beezer...

Never worked on one...My motor cycle days ended when I joined the Navy. I was into horses back then and still am today. Pit crewed for this person for TT improved and unimproved scrambles and hill climbs. Did the drag strip at Port Orchard, Oregon on an invite only once. My engine (650 Spitfire with all the goodies in a Gold Star frame) took class illiminator , middle illiminator and top illiminator against a slingshot dragster with a blown hemi. the guy with the Triamph 650 never invited us back...Not sure why either...We just trounsed him in class illiminator. Yup. You betcha. I'm proud of that...My engine...

My horses are used as 4 X 4's. They get me where most people can't go (National Wilderness). I've always used them as High mountain trail horses. Cutter, my main horse, has been up to 9,000 ft on one hunt in the Sierras...He's old like me. If you can call me old. He's 20 and still going strong...He's got a four day ride in the foothills this Thanksgiving weekend. Having turkey in horse camp again this year...

L O L Here we are. High Jackin' this string again...That's one of the nice things about horses, guns, fishing rods and campsites. they all go together as a perfect fit. Definately keeps me young...My four sons and one daughter think I'm a little nuts, but the grand kids think I "neat"...

My father nick named me Crackshot when I was 7, I shot my first squirrel with a 22 Model 39 marlin.
He called me Crackshot more than my given name!

When I first started posting on the BB's on the 'net, I had to register. Being a newbie to the web I had to K.I.S.S. and happened to glance at my #3 Ruger in 45-70 and it popped into place. I've used it all over the web. Kinda makes the liberals think a little on some boards it shows up on. Very Happy Cool

Howdy, all. I'm finaly in and now I'm halfway happy. They call me.......gota....because of my last name, Hale. Go figure. I'm kind of crazy, another carryover name from the jungle years ago. Live in Red Oak, Tx. and hunt San Saba, Tx. for deer and my favorite, feral and russian hogs. Shoot a 788 in 223(.3s and.4s), a 700 in 243(5 in a dime at 100) and my nemisis, a ruger 77. It shoots in the .5s one day and 1 inch the next. It's driving me more crazy(going crazy was a short trip for me). Happy to be here.(Tired of one finger typing) Enjoy our freedoms while you can and give Thanks to the Lord for what we have, including life. gota
