Hi
My handle stands for my name! Al Sohlstrom.
I'm seriously considering buying a .300 Win. Mag., pretty much JUST so I can claim the handle of .30_Cal_Al.

Friends and family call me 1895 because I enjoy shooting my 45-70 so much.

I used to be a professional sailor; tallships, racing sailboats etc. hence the sail. Ronin was a "wind blown wave" (one with no fixed direction) that came to mean a samurai who had turned outlaw or mercenary. Since I sailed for money "sailronin" seemed like a good fit.
Now I just drive big motor yachts around and don't get to sail much but the email name stuck.
Good to hear how some others came about.

I'm originally from South Carolina ( nickname Sandlappers). I have lived in East Tennessee for 36 years. ( TN). So, tnsandlapper I am. Just retired 4 months ago. Looking for the opportunity to shoot varmints west of here somewhere. Might be willing to exchange hunting opportunities ( lodging and meals, place to hunt deer in TN) with some honest and decent hunter, yes there are plenty, in varmint country.

Mine comes from my friends giving me a hard time about the caliber of gun I like to shoot Yotes with. A 45-70 has always proved to be adequate on the song dogs. I bust em, as they say. Hence.........Yotebuster
