I carry a gun so that I don't have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be prepared.



I don't carry a gun because I want to shoot someone.
I carry a gun because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.



I don't carry a gun to make me feel like a man.
I carry a gun because men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.



I don't carry a gun because I feel inadequate.
I carry a gun because - unarmed and facing three armed thugs - I am inadequate.



I don't carry a gun because I love it.
I carry a gun because I love life and the people who make it meaningful to me.



Police protection is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect themselves, and each other.
Police do not protect you from crime, they usually just investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone else in to clean up the mess.



Remember, when seconds count - the police are only minutes away!

I am with you all the way on this, except that our Founding Fathers wanted us to be able to overthrow any government that failed to serve the citizens of our country. In case anyone like the FBI, CIA, etc., etc., are listening I am not advocating an overthrow of our current leaders. Whew, I am glad I remembered to add that disclaimer.

Anyway, great post, and thanks for reminding us.

I carry a gun just in case I need it.
Hopefully we won't need guns to get the government we need.
The cost of our freedom is eternal vigelance.

Off topic; I carry a gun or guns just in case when it is legal in my country. It means going or coming shooting- and hunting places.

Just want to point out that the Second Amendment just recognizes that you already have a right to be armed, it does not somehow "give" you the right. Call it a "natural right" or "God given right", whichever you prefer. If there was no amendment we would still have the right.

I agree with the sentiments of those who have posted. I have exercised my CCW rights since 1967. All the best...
