I shoot the HMR and the Mach II. Just depends on what I feel like. You can get the Mach II ammo for about $4.oo/50 and the HMR for about $9.50/50. Here is a Mach II target shot with my Contender Carbine.



Maybe that will help. I think of the Mach II as good for 125 yds and the HMR is good for 200.

A17Shooter, great shooting. My marlin bolt action heavey bbl 17HMR shoots just like that at 100 yrds. I really love the 17HMR, I just wish it didn't cost so much to shoot.

Glad to hear that you're getting great groups out of you Marlin. I've never had that good of 100 yd groups our of my Marlin 17 V. Of course I may not be reading the wind close enough.

Here's a link to that 17 Hornady Mach 2 for $39.95 a brick. It is the Eley brand and it shot that nice little group for me.
