New Remington 700 MTN LSS 22" Barrel in 7mm-08. Laminated Stock.
The barrel is not free floated, I was wondering if I should.
Thanks for your advise.

I would shoot it first and see what your results are. Sometimes the lighter contoured barrels shoot better with the pressure point in place. The laminated stocks are pretty stiff so the pressure on barrel should not vary a great deal with force on the forearm like on flimsy plastic stocks . You may have a real tackdriver as is.

By all means, see how it shoots first. If it isn't broken don't fix it! If you aren't happy with the accuracy with the current bedding, then play with it. You can always remove material but it is pretty tough putting it back.

Having tried twice to float a sporter weight barrel to see if it would improve accuracy... I wouldn't bother. I had to go back and shim both to get them shooting again. FYI one was a Ruger 77/.22 Hornet and the other was a Win 70 Featherweight in .280 Rem.

I have the same rifle in .260 Rem. and ultimately I did remove the pressure bump. The gun shoots great three shot groups. Anything more than that heats up that thin barrel.
Shoot it first. Then if you do remove it it is easy to create a new one should you decide to do that.
