How To Tell You Are In Wyoming

1. The weather man refers to a 30 mph wind as a "light breeze".

2. You go from running the air conditioner at full blast to running the heater at full blast in less than 12 hours.

3. You enjoy listening to travelers try to pronounce "Popo Agie" and "Gros Ventre" and "Meteetsee" or "Kemmerer".

4. Your grand parents drive 150 miles through 2 feet of snow with the wind blowing 60 mph just to go to a movie,

5. Your girlfriend/wife has jumper cables and a tow strap in her car/truck, and knows how to use them.

6. Directions are given in "cattleguards". Go down this road 3 cattleguards and then take the next left.

7. Antelope outnumber people.

8. You and your friends had a celebration when Wyoming beat Alaska for the least populated state.

9. You see "Welcome to Wyoming, I don't give a s**t how you do it back home" bumper stickers on state highway dept trucks.

10. You know all four seasons, almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction.

11. The local version of "Survivor" is to put someone in a used Volvo with a bumper sticker that says"I voted for Gore, I'm Gay, and I'm here to take your guns" and see if they can make it from one side of the state to the other.

12. You know where "rocky mountain oysters" come from and think the ones at the Proud Cut Saloon in Cody are probably the best in the state.

13. On city limits signs, the elevation is higher than the population.

14. You are driving 65 mph in a blinding snow storm, and you get passed.

15. People still wave to each other when they pass on a dirt road.

16. You can drive for 2 hours and not see another vehicle.

17. You can't relieve yourself on the side of the road because everyone keeps stopping to see if you have car trouble.

18. People drive into the ditch to get out of the way of firetrucks/ambulances.

19. The typical fall greeting is "got your elk yet?"

20. Most large cities in other states have a population larger than the entire state of Wyoming. (600,000 by the way)

21. The response to a highway patrolman asking "do you have any weapons?", is "What do ya need?"

As one of our U.S Senators put it "Wyoming is one small town with really long streets"
