Gday all
I have just joined this group and it seems like a great place to discuss our sport and also to learn a lot!
I am an Aussie (yeah, another one) living in New Zealand. I have just got back from a trip with my son (11yrs) but we saw nothing and didnt fire a shot. It was a pretty cool overnight camp though.
I have been fortunate enough to nail a few red deer and fallow deer the last year. Venison stews are popular in our house!
Great site guys I enjoy visiting.

Hey thanks dust54, I may need one of Vince's beers, the stuff they make here is terrible, I have been here 5 years and it still all tastes like yesterdays dishwater. Hopefully Vince will have a nice cold XXXX or VB in his fridge.
It's not all bad here in NZ though. Hunting is still looked upon as an honorable pursuit and firearm owners are not frowned upon like they are in the land of Oz. The fishing isnt too bad either, and the trout season opens in 3 days, so looking foward to that.
Cheers.

Welcome to HuntingNut c404...the guys have pointed you towards the Esky....you'll find XXXX or as tikkat3 says a few stubbies of Tooheys Old, otherwise known as Swamp Water...great beer, love it. Always a beer in my camp for visitors.

Whereabout in Oz do you hale from mate?

I have to visit the land of the Long White Cloud to do a little hunting one day, I've heard that it is great. Not into trout...never really enjoyed eating them, although I am happy to do a bit of "catch and release".

Cheers, Vince

Hi all, Thanks for the welcome. Bushmaster I cant remember where I found the site, I think it may have been on a google trawl for rifle information. I think this seems about the most laid back hunting site I have seen, and that is a very good thing.
It seems everyone is very liberal with Vince's beer......maybe he is some kind of beerlionaire....oooooh thats bad . Sorry.
But seriously thank you all for the warm welcome and I hope to put a few hunting reports up soon.
My next trip will be on Tuesday with my daughter and that is when the trout season opens.

Nah, not a beerlionaire mate....just a guy who enjoys a cold beer on a hot day and is happy to shout.

Cheers, Vince
