Guys like Ben and my Son Ben can smell hunting season at this time of year Vince.
It brings them out from summer hibernation.

Just secured permission for some sod fields in the area today... birds are just starting to hit it. Once they all get their wings going and find it they will stay there as long as nobody is there... in other words... Sept. 6 smackdown. We drove 15 miles east toward the river and secured permission for another farm with an oats field and some hay on a huge hill... again birds just starting to fly and a few in the field, with no pressure and loafing ponds in the front of the farm they will should hold until the morning of Sept. 7 and arise to a ka potch in the face.... got another farm lined up off of the river and the farmer has told me the corn will be cut before opener weekend. After that I will be in the area hunting with ElyBoy (my dad) and then on Oct. 3 its off to CANADA for a week to kill anything and everything that flies by. Liberal limits and easy access coupled with a good looking decoy spread will result in yet another... smackdown.

Don't count your ducks before they're hatched, or shot Ben.
Sept. 6th, you have a much better chance for a "smackdown" in the field than you do in Canada.
Why
Because MY gun will be in the field on Sept. 6th.
In Canada, you will have to depend on much lesser gunners 'cause I won't be there to shoot all of the game.
I will be with Brother Zach, shooting Ducks in the marsh.
By the way, sense you are a "pro" now, and will be videoing your hunt, I guess that I'll be hunting with Zach in Wheaton from now on????

Just me going. Me and some of the guys from Feather Duster Calls are headed up there. We're not headed your way, we're headed west. We will be filming for Feather Duster Calls' first movie this season and should get some very good footage from up there.

Thanks for the offer Dan.
I have Ben up and running on hunting ect., so now it's
time to give his brother Zach some quality time in the marsh.
Ben and his friends have some good fields set up for goose hunting next month, so Ben, Zach, and I will be shooting together then.
When Ben is in Alberta, I will have some much needed one on one time with Zach in the Marshes.
By they way, when I start heading back to Canada, the ONLY place that I will hunt is Manitoba.
You Manitoba folks are the nicest people in the world.

Hey Ben and Gang,
My Son Ben, just gave me a call and he just won the State Championship Duck Calling Contest at Game Fair today.
Ben's next stop will be the World Championships at Stuttgart Arkansas in November.
I guess that Ben's Sponsor will pay all of his expenses.
