I must have missed the news reports where so many people recently won their state lotteries, judging from the amount of donations recently
I just wanted to give a hearty THANK YOU for those that donated to help cover expenses here. Some of the donaters did it anonymously hence a public thanking is in order.
HuntingNut started as a hobby and its been astounding to see how much it has grown over the years. It was amazing to me when we hit 1,000,000 page views. Has anyone checked the stats recently? We just broke 7,000,000 and are averaging over 300,000 views per month now! It took years to hit 300,000 total views 8O.
I appreciate all the friendship and support over the years, and that so many people find visiting here worthwhile. We have a great community of good people that visit here and I'm glad to get to know you all.

I need to shift gears a moment, and make couple comments about PointBlank v2.0 because I get a ton of emails asking about it. The original v2.0 I started writing in a different programming language because due to its popularity, knowing it would help me out long term in my occupation. What developed looked promising, functionality wise it was superior in almost every way to v1.8a ... but behind the scenes, the programming was turning into an unfortunate mess and getting hard to maintain.
I discussed this with a friend who is much more experienced with the programming language, and he let me know about several techniques I was not taking advantage of. With this new knowledge in hand, I ran some test experiments and found I could simplify my overall design 10 fold. So, about 6 weeks ago I gutted the v2.0 and have been rebuilding from the ground up. It has simplified things tremendously. I have put approx 200 hours into this latest version over the past few weeks and it is progressing quickly. Overall functionality is also cleaner and easier to use. I dropped the database format v2.0 was originally going to use for a snazzy XML based database. Its way cool and works great.
PointBlank might not seem to be at the surface, but it is a complex little program that takes a lot of time to create properly. Perhaps if I skimpted on a few features it could write it quicker, but I think the end result is much better. I am making a big push to get a new version out the door as quickly as I can, and I really feel the end is in sight.
