I've had great luck with Sierra and Nosler (50/50). Those Ballistic Tips are incredible on thin skinned varmints and partitions work great in most of my belted magnums. Most of my medium bores 6mm rem to 30/06 all prefer sierras. But as other have stated " if my guns are happy, I'm happy"

I loaded strictly sierra for years and had no complaints, but lately is about 50/50 with nosler. That's 30 cal. 165 and 180 gr. For the 30/30 and 243 it's hornady.

Toss up between Nosler Partitions and Hornady XTPs... the later I use in my muzzleloader, the former in everything else Smile

I think that nails it, right there, if only as a rule of thumb.

I'm a Barnes slut when it comes to meat gathering with a CF hunting rifle...I'll build an entire rifle around a certain grain weight TSX.

For playtime with same, I like Vmax's, BT's and at least one HPBT varmit bullet in one rifle.

My AR, when I get a chance to R&D a load for it, will likely only see Vmax's though 69 grain match was magic in my other one.

Handguns it's a toss up....between XTP's and hardcast, tho' the hardcast isn't used for anything self defense.

I can like the SST's in a slug gun though just barely because it's a slug gun.

My 50 cal inline is a killing machine, with 240 XTP's and lotsa FFg.........

Barnes for all my big game. They are accurate and expand very well and always penetrate fully. For P-dogs I use Hornady V-Max. They expand like we expect, and are super accurate from this rifle.

Bergers, sierra, hornady for the varmint rifles, in that order. Noslers and Rem. Core-lokt for big game.

I really like the Sierra Game Kings and have used them alot. But recently I have been shooting alot of Hornady interbonds. Have had good results with both.

I load Speer bullets most of the time but I do have a few loads for Nosler partitions. Speers have always performed well and given sub-MOA accuracy.

Welcome RocketmanLCO. Grab a beer mate, pull up a stump and sit awhile.

Good to see that you aren't too afraid to jump in with your 2c worth mate...that's what this site is all about, a friendly exchange of information, knowledge and experience.

Cheers, Vince
