It is goose season RIGHT NOW in my neck of the woods........they just started arriving. Alaska has a spring subsistence season for residents of bush communities.

My oldest Son Ben, who goes by Waterfowladdict on this sight, hit the migration north last month.
He came home with the nicest looking Blue that I have ever seen, so I will have it mounted.
Good luck hunting if you should go.

The Blue is still in the freezer Joe.
My regular taxidermist is too busy to take it, so I have to find another good one.

I shot a few geese this past month, including a wing shot with the M1A ( a little luck involved). Got about 30 ducks as well.

I'm doing great Partner!!
Ben just Graduated from High School the other night, and I'm beginning to get the itch to shoot a bird out of the air.
I'm going to start remodeling our camper for duck hunting.
Over my lifetime, I have avoided camping in the fall, while waterfowl hunting, because of the wet cloths, etc.. However, with gas prices the way that they are, not renting a room will allow us to make more trips this fall.

The little 'uns around here are almost big enough to fly....
It won't be long now....
The young'uns are the best eatin too....
Like havin' goose "veal"....
And they KILL easier.....

You're right Hunter.
I don't need a challenge anymore.
The young ones decoy a whole lot better than the old wise geese.
I just told my wife that I "feel" hunting season starting to call me once again.
She just rolled her eyes, and said nothing.
Our oldest Son Ben said the same thing when he came home from fishing tonight.
