Hello, anyone...

My wife and I plan our third visit to OZ early in '09. We're US residents.
I'd sure appreciate getting hooked up to help someone rid their property of at least one bull camel--preferably more of that or other nusiance species.
Is anyone able and willing to make such a connection, please?

Thanks much.

Welcome to the HuntingNut Africanhunter2. We have quite a few members from Oz here. I'm sure they will have some advice for ya.
Joe

Welcome Africanhunter2. Grab a beer, pull up a stump and sit a while mate.

A bull camel....thats a hard one mate. The feral camels we have are out in the middle of nowhere, and in Australia that means travelling most likely a couple of thousand kilometres.

Have a look at these two links...they will give you plenty of guidance and information.

Magnum Hunting

Australian Hunting Safari

As for "visiting" a property and hunting...unless you know someone in the outback the chances are extremely remote of being allowed access to a property, and unfortunately I don't know anyone out there.

Good luck with your venture mate.

Cheers, Vince

Gentlemen, thanks for the welcome and for the camel-related links.
I'll remain hopeful that someone will reply with a good connection.
I don't mind the travel, since my wife and I would enjoy seeing more of the country, but we need an affordable situation for hunting camels.

africanhunter2, I only noticed this today - no flies on me! I go camel shooting on average every 6 to 8 weeks. A mate and myself carry out culls and usually bring back meat for the dogs. I am sure something could be organised - I have taken people out before. Only thing to remember is you can drive for two days and see nothing other times you you will get a heap within a couple of hours. It is not hunting! What we try and do is spot them and carry out a stalk when we are out for ourselves. When we are culling we get as close as we can and shoot from next to the car.
If you want to email me closer to when you will be here and the amount of time you have I can make some arrangements.

Isn't it amazing that you can live 20 airline hours away from a place and still link up with folks to hunt with?! Thank you Lord for computers and nice folks from around the globe.

Gidday Arizona Hunter. It is this that makes HuntingNut one of the best and friendliest hunting websites around....we are like one big happy friendly hunting family.

For that, we all owe Dallan a huge vote of thanks, at the very least, for hosting us.

Cheers, Vince
