Saturday brought us nice duck hunting weather. Overcast skys north wind 10-15. Due to events beyond my control we didn't get out until the afternoon. We shot some gadwalls and wood ducks. Althought he wood duck drakes were immature. They will taste just fine. I could watch woodys approach all day and not get tired of it. Some Blue wing teal flying but they seemed to be always flying south with the wind when they came past us.

Everything got wet in the canoe, the dog jumped out early five time and I lost a gadwall in the tall grass. All in all a normal first day! Does it get any better ?
