Does anyone know of a gunsmith that would be willing to tackle re-barreling a 99 Savage in .250 Savage to .22-250 ?

Make sure it is not collectible in its current trim.

Not a issue with this weapon. More sentimental than anything.

Any luck on this one? I am sure you know that ALL 99's are collectable, the .250's are some of the least found out there most are .308Win. Maybe a simple rebarrel to .250AI might be another possible option. I do not know in the end it is your rifle so do as you wish and have fun with it.

Send the gun to Ray Montgomery in Grand Junction, Colorado. He does very good work and his turn around time is pretty good.

For barrels I have found ER Shaw to be a descent Bbl. They may have a slightly longer turn around time based on the type of bbl., how much is going through the shop, etc. but they will install a bbl. almost the same price if I rent a reamer and do it my self. We have only sent bolt guns thier way, but they might be able to hook you up. just contact them at the sight below. They should have an answer for you.

E.R. Shaw Barrels

I looked into Ray Montgomery in Grand Junction. The info I found, if Accurate, is:

Ray Montgomery
Ray's Gunsmithing
3199 Elm Ave
Grand Junction 81504
970-434-6162

I have never done business with this person, but you see to be looking for this info.
