Whew.. after 9 hours in the plane, finally I am back.
Besides having some episode of food incompatibility I reckon all is well.
In the Airport, there is TV network recording an episode of "Border Security" and I think I got in it. Silly people, they want to risk the lenses of their camera
On the downside, this time I am not allowed to carry any beef jerky (brought them everytime I went to China coz its not available in Aussie) . The law said, processed food are allowed, and I did ensure that they are indeed processed and vacuum packed beef jerky.. so about $300 worth of jerky goes down in the incinerator..

Welcome back buddy.
The AQIS Rules and Regulations can be pretty tough. What sort of beef is it? You can get beef jerky out here mate. The one from China must be a special type eh?
Cheers, Vince

Thanks guys.. this site has became a home ..
Vince, the jerky is made of mince mixed with lots of spices and honey, I think it was first prepared/cook like the yeeros (Greek food?) they then cut very thin and re Barbeque the stuff. Hard to describe but I think once you taste them, yuuummm!!!! Pretty moreish stuff.
My girls are crazy about them and they are quite disappointed because of the new restriction.

No new restriction Gelandangan.
They should have locked you up, given you a hefty fine and
confiscated all your wordly possessions.
And IGNORANCE is NO EXCUSE.
A curse on you and your family for even thinking of bringing something like that into the country.
Steve Irwin would spin in his grave.
And if you have done this before and not got caught then I hope they keep an eye on you everytime you and any member of your whole family re enter.
Besides the illegal contraband, Did you have a good trip?

What you can't take 'roo jerky out of Australia ?? That would have been my main goal once I do end up visiting Australia.
Gelan,
Tell me what did they feed you on the airplane ??

Gotta love some of those rules on what you can and can't bring with you. I had bought some Blue Diamond almonds to eat on the flight back home from Korea. Figured it would be fine since they were sealed, raised, and packed about an hour from where I live in California. Stupid people wouldn't let me have them.
How dare they not let good jerky out of there country, it would be a great way to expand their market.
Oh and welcome back.

Dude, I loved this country as much or more than you do, after all I am here by choice, not because my ancestor were placed here.
I will not consciously bring any illegal item into the country.
Steve may Rest In Peace. - Crikey!!!
It is true what I said before, it was ok to bring in PROCESSED food and I did ensure that it was pasteurized and vacuum sealed stuff. AND, I ALWAYS DECLARE them, so it is not like I was smuggling them in.
I reckon it is because of the TV crew in the vicinity that made them (the customs officers) to want to look tough.
And tikka, I will take what you say about cursing my family as a joke whether or not you meant it that way.
So besides the episode in the airport, I did have a good trip. How about you? did they let you out yet?

They feed you in the airplane?? really??
Err, I got some pieces of dead animal and overcooked veggies in small trays and some pieces of fruits that they try to convince me as fruit salad.
Cant call them food, its more like some sort of device to ensure the passenger to stay on their seats (cant stand up when you got a tray of sticky stuff on your lap).
What did they use on your trip Dimitri?
Gelan

I picked the Lasagna which was about 4"x4" (10cm x 10 cm) of cheese lasagna and about 1.25" high (3cm or so). A plate 6" by 4" half of salad and half of cooked shrimp (yummy the shrimp was best part of the meal :D), a piece of chocolate cake (2.5" by 3"x1.5") and a couple of small bread buns. They gave us breakfast of a small fruit salad (other then it was cut atleast a day ago it was "ok") a strawbarry pastry, and more little balls of bread.
Also we had fold down trays to hold the food so the tray they served the food on wasn't on my lap.
Mind you as long as its food I generally don't complain about it. So my opinion of the meal may not be right according to most people. If its food I'll eat it.
