French Canadians, God bless 'em, invented the tortierre, a meat pie with 3 levels and a different kind of meat on each level, all separated by layers of pie crust(each chef can choose his/her own meats, but the originals always had 1 layer of pork and 1 of poultry I believe) Then.....because hey...that's just you know..the warm up...POUTINE!!! I can't think of anything better to do with "french" fries (never came from France) than bury them in gravy and and melt chees all over them what condiments could you need?

I dont eat fries much but when I do I like cocktail sauce.

Fries with ketchup.
Burgers with ketchup.
Steak with ketchup.
EVERYTHING with ketchup.
#2 son even eats potato chips with ketchup.

Ah...Germany. When I was on exchange over there I very quickly learnt to enjoy Bratties with mustard (a really nice Bratwurst is awesome) ....... washed down with a 1/2 litre of Germania, or Dortmunder or Herforder Pils or any German beer....and if you wanted to kill the taste of anything have a couple shots of Apple Corn....woohoo, countdown to blastoff.

With any chicken dish I like Mae Ploy sweet chillie sauce from Thailand. Fish....tartare sauce or lemon juice.
Meat pie...mashed potato, mushy peas and thick gravy....put the mushy peas on top of the pie, put the mashed potato on top of the peas then float the lot in thick rich gravy.
Salad..... Italian salad dressing.
Steak....Worcestorshire sauce or HP (Father's Favourite) sauce or BBQ sauce or at a pinch Tomato Sauce. When I get the chance to be classy I like Diane Sauce (mmmmmm garlic) or a nice thick mushroom sauce.
Chips (Fries)...GRAVY, thick and lots of it, BBQ sauce or lemon juice or a little white vinegar.
Red game meats.....marinate in lots of garlic and soy sauce then pour a little of the marinade over it whilst its cooking.
Not a great lover of Chocolate sauce, but I love Caramel sauce on ice cream.

Herbs are always fresh from our garden, and condiments are a little sea salt and also ground black pepper.

I could go on for hours here.....love me tucker. I 'spose thats why I am 20kg overweight.

Cayanne pepper is hard to beat on main dishes, lemon juice goes on most everything and fennel seed goes great with meat dishes. (love that licorice flavor) Katcup is only for french fries.

Licorice flavored beef??? What are you th....Aah...Oh yeah...Welcome to the site. I see this is your 5th post. Well better late the never. Sit a spell. Get the "woman" to fetch ya a beer and enjoy...(licorice flavored beef...I'll be damned)

I think it's a real subtle hint of licorice cuz that'd be ok with me (or God I'm hoping it is...:yuck: ) oh well, to each their own, enjoy.

I used to grew some fennel in my garden (not sure if it tastes like the seeds never waited to get the seeds out as a matter of fact), but because of me knowing I'd move I didn't grow anything this year.

Used to put the Flannel in salads and Chicken.

Make sure, Dimitri, that when you plant "flannel" that "granny" isn't in them...
