Thats funny Tracker, considering here no one cares where the coin is from, even 50 cent Americans get thrown into the "25 cent" bin in the cash. :lol:Dimitri |
Actually, 'Mitri, I imagine the machines would, I was just wisecracking. When I was in Montana, a cashier absolutely refused to take any kind of Canadian currency from me at a convenience store, coins or bills, said his boss would fire him if he did. Fortunately, the lovely Keetowah was there to come to my rescue.
I'm just glad that this posting didn't de-generate into Bushmaster having to explain to you all what an aircraft carrier carries...

"As for the machines they should be accepted, friends I know who have been to the US say the machines accept Canadian 25 cent coins as American ones. Probably because its the same machines, just sold in both countries as "one and the same" ?? "
Ah, the great Can-Am, K-Mart, horsy, monatary exchange conspiracy.....

Nope they wont Dimitri, here in Montana they have signs up saying "No Canadian Money".. in the casinos, restaurants, hotels (some) gas stations.
every now and then you'll find a gas station with the sign "Canadians Welcome Here" now i would assume that means the $$$
They tell our servers at work if they accept Canadain money they have to make it up out of their own money. If they continue taking it they can be fired. to much of hassle i guess to convert it, for not all banks will.
Matter a fact I cant find one here that will.
Americans dont want anyone elses' money but Americans
I lucked out though when in Manitoba and all I had on me was our money and the people at the gas station took American money
Figured we would too, but we wont.

Last time I checked a Canadian quarter wasn't worth as much as an American quarter...Might have changed sense then though...

The exchange is a lot closer than it was a year ago, Bushy, most times though people don't worry about the rate if it's less than a buck I can remember when the exchange was the other way around and American $ were worth less than Cdn $
