High speed with a tiny piece of lead? I think that it will have a tendancy to be knocked off course way to easily.

I know folks like Handloader can better answer this question; But it seems to me that with the .17 HMR .17 Remington and .204 Ruger (I love mine), why bother with the Fireball?

When they get guided bullets those lightweight projectiles will make sense to me. Those 25 grain bullets are thrown off course by thermals and winds far too easily to make them good enough for me to use at ranges beyond 50 yards. I would rather have a 500 grain lead bullet at 1700 fps than a 25 grain at 3000. I know that when that 500 grain bullet gets 500 yrds down range and lands close to the prairy dog it will kill it.
You have to guess where that 25 grain bullet will be at half that range and then you have to HIT the PD to kill it!
Oh, come on, it is funny!
