Magpies... oh wait, thats illegal Wink

I mainly shoot squirrels with it. Out here they are varmints with no season so they are shoot on sight.

Ill have to try the golfball thing, that sounds fun.

Use care and a good backstop shooting golfballs with anything that might ricochet. Golfballs will deflect a bullet and send it off with good retained velocity.

The bullet goes through the golf balls I've shot with 22mag. Haven't had a chance to try it with 17hmr yet.

With those little bullets I would think a good target would be flies out on the back fence. See how many shots it takes to slice their wings off.
HA! Birds and prairy dogs or ground squirrels or maybe marmonts (Woodchucks). I used to shoot ground squirrels with my 357 Magnum. Just sit on the stump in the area of a colony and wait for them to come up to scream at me. Then I just take aim and poof no more ground squirrel. After about five minutes a new one would come up and then another and they would start jabbering at each other or me and as more came out I'd just make one disappear and they would scurrie back into their holes. Wait another five minutes and poof another one would disappear. You never run out of ground squirrels.
