I enjoy reading fiction where firearms are accurately portrayed. What books can you recommend?

My all time favorite is John Ross' "Unintended Consequences" and I've enjoyed most anything by Stephen Hunter.

I reckon that the entire Wilbur Smith range of books is pretty good.

Love reading him. I have everyone of his books.

Cheers, Vince

Handloader,
I agree with you, Stephen Hunter is great. The Point of Impact series, with 'Bob the Nailer' was great. I am a big fan of the Winchester Model 70, and don't know if it's true, but I sure enjoyed Hunter talking about the 10 Black Aces made on the Mod. 70 actions.

I have also found Richard Marcinko's books to be very good. He is a Navy Seal that formed Seal Team 6 in the 80's which was the counter-terrorist unit. He has a non-fiction book of his biography called Rogue Warrior, and a fiction series. The biography is very good, as he tells of forming Seal Team 6 with about 60 shooters, the formation of which was highly classified and buried deep in the Navy's budget. He indicated that during the first year forming the team, that his 60 guys ammo budget was more than the entire Marine Corps shot in one year! His fiction stuff is just as highly detailed as his biography, and he definately knows his way around firearms!

Tim
