Happy 4th to one and all...Just got back from the Santa Paula air port. We watched, looked at, sat in...Single engine planes from Bi-planes to WWII War Birds...Almost got my Grand Daughter talked into going up in a carrier based WWII torpedo bomber. Didn't make it. You know how those city gals are...Plane made too much noise. Good day anyway. Did talk the air port bar keep into letting me and my Grand Daughter have a drink in the bar...She is 12...I have just corruped her....

"WWII torpedo bomber"
That would be a TBF or if made by General Motors it would be a TBM

Yup...One of the two Avengers...This one didn't have the aft gun turret, but it did have folding wings for carrier use...

Happy Fourth of July to all my mates in the USA.
Don't know exactly what the celebration is, all I know is that it has something to do with Guy Fawlkes...or something like that.
You guys are lucky....we aren't allowed to play with fireworks over here...we might hurt ourselves. Big brother protecting us from ourselves again.
Had them as a kid without any problems though...and I have all my fingers. We had a ball.
Cheers, Vince

Vince,
We celebrate the Fourth of July to commemorate the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain that was adopted by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. The first public reading was on July 8, 1776 in Philadelphia. So the Colonies split from the Mother Country. All the best...

Ya, taxation with no representation, just like it is now. But, we still have freedoms like no other country and we intend to keep it that way. Each year we are reminded, happy 4th of July to all those freedom lovers out there
Keep it coming...
