Yes, they are both current Hodgdon powders.
Pumpkinslinger, I believe you are thinking about the Winchester powders. One was WW785 and another WW540? I think. It's been a long time since I switched to Hodgdon but I did because Winchester kept deleting powders just to change up. It is frustrating to work a load up and then not have any powder to continue use.

Those powders aren't listed on Hodgdon's web site.

Please note that those are NOT direct replacements. It's a list of powders that are in the same ballpark with respect to burn rate. Don't want anyone to substitute something and get hurt.

That said, this is a good reference! Thanks Vince

Yes mate, you are totally correct, but what this list does is show powders in a similar burn rate window. This makes powder choice a little easier and allows for load development to be done after researching a particular powder’s online data.

I have to apologize; Those powders have been deleted. I was using my older book, Hodgdon #25. When I checked my 2016 manual they are no longer listed.

I hate being brought up to date kicking and screaming. It had to be done so, I thank you for it.

56grns of 2213 behind 90grn is nice to shoot...I put two through pretty much same hole.... mate was suffering from the dreaded rhymes with grinch....he went from 2" group to knocking box over.....much .22lr time needed. very happy with the 2213sc as its first reload we have tried.

loaded some 87grn hornady SPs with 53grns 2213 for mate...quite a bit more mild and his grouping shows the increase in confidence with decrease in recoil and noise.......winning the "head game" is 90% of the battle.
my converted 270 brass worked just fine n dandy....it feels great to be on track to sorting this "pool que" out.I look forward to the day Mate manages to shoot sub inch group and even more the day he tips over animal with it.
I looked in manuals and the above load is still beating .243 by a little so is no slouch at all.

Ive also swapped out scope for another that I had spare as its a "known quantity" liked the nikko panimex that was on rifle but dubious as to if the thing was holding zero after a couple of times zero had shifted 4" sideways...and looking at target one afternoon the xhairs appears to blink sideways, something Ive never seen before...not 100% sure it wasnt heat mirage off suppressor but better to try another scope and see...if nothing improves can always put the panimex back on..if vast improvement the panimex can become scrap metal....after placing in on range and giving it just punishment for failure to hold zero.

the rifle has changed hands to another mutual mate...so journey begins all over again.....was good to read back through thread to revise memory about what rifle has done....
MAYBE we will get out over Christmas/new year period and find something silly enough to stand still long enough to finally blood this rifle...failing that I know where some hares are hiding......

well she is blooded......mate pulled of cracker neck shot at 125ish yards, downhill in drizzly rain....fair sacked the young fallow stag...the 87grn reloads doing book 3100fps certainly hit with a whack.
to say I was stoked is understatement.Meg knew deer was there somewhere ,but the drizzle and poor visibility meant it took us awhile to find it in the waist high tussocks.
that load had 53grns of AR2213SC behind it...loaded up some more at 54.5grns and some 117 and 120s with 50 grns AR2213SC so mate has plenty of loads to keep him going...the beauty of the .25 CALIBRE is there is no shortage of components...same with .243 and .270 so far.
I skinned buck/stag out completely so mate can get hide tanned as reminder of his real first deer..the last one was combined effort, this one was all him,I never even chambered a round....mates Im still buzzing hours afterwards.it is so good getting a guy into hunting and watching him get first deer with his own rifle......yabbadabbadoooooo.

Well done to your mate on his first deer mate.

took Alan out again today, he really shoots well with the pool que. took a couple of wallabies at 250ish yards,no worries at all. he did manage to miss one at 50 yards LOL....he might have done so just to make me feel better,I was using the .223 with its silly light stock and unless I hang on to it well I miss, so light it jumps even with the wee 223 cartridge. I did also manage to hit a few,we shot 9 wallabies for the morning. got Al to take suppressor off the 25/06 and he lined up wallaby at 200ish yards and still smoked it!!! no worries about changed impact with that rifle that is for sure. the rest of the wallabies in area are probably still rolling around on ground with paws stuck in the ears...man it is a loud beast without the suppressor.
