Yes mate, I’m very mindful of those creepy thieving bastards. I keep my wallet with minimal cash, and phone, in the front pocket of my shorts because it’s difficult to get into even for me. The slightest pressure in that region will have me on full alert. I also put nothing of value in my backpack. All other valuables, including cash are locked in the safe in the room.

I’m not a gambler, so I have no problems in that area, although I don’t mind watching others blow their hard earned cash for a wee while. It’s amusing to watch the emotions and “poker faces”.

So far I’ve found McDonalds, Subway and a good hot sandwich outlet that are all very similar in price. Eating healthy is the hardest part though so I might have a decent salad every day or so. One thing I did find is that they don’t put tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms Scratch

probably because they want you to walk through the casino to get to the Starbucks inside the casino.

I thought the Walmartian pics were strange...they got nothing on some of the sights here. I walked out the front of the casino onto Las Vegas Bvld (The Strip) to be greeted by two young ladies in g-strings, pasties and feather headdress (one of who, diplomatically, could be called Plus Size at best) looking for $20 to have your picture taken with them. Confused

I have a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and surrounding places tomorrow. Should be very interesting.

Hang on tight, Vince! If you close one eye when you look down, it help to make you not feel like you are falling. Oh, if you are prone to air sickness, eat a banana before you go on the flight. They taste as good coming up as they did the first time going down.

Helo's are a bumpy ride on a calm day. The idea is not to puke.

besides. I'm not sure they are allowed to fly into the canyon. Are they?

Was a great flight. We overflew the lake and Hoover Dam and a couple of tiwnships/villages, plus a couple of failed developments. Only got bumpy once and that lasted only about 10 seconds. I’ve spent many hours flying in choppers when in the Army without an airsickness problem. Now, put me on a small boat offshore and I bring up everything but the soles of my boots, and I try and get them up too.

Yes Bushy, they are allowed to land in the Canyon. The pilot was telling us they pay something like US$2.5 million a year for landing rights on Indian land. All in all, a magnificent experience.
