I'm doing the same as you & finishing with the 9-5 (more like 9-7, 6 days a week) at the end of the year.
Lost a good friend, inherited his guns (including an AI AX-13), still sharing looking after my mum with my brother & coming out to the US on October 25th for a week in Albuquerque, five days in GA/AL then back to Albuquerque for another week.
Next year I'm going to fly into Portland, OR & drive down to NM for the heck of it.

Another year passed.
It seems to pass quicker nowdays.

Guys RUOK?

I am settling in my new man cave and getting busy making stamps, knives and whatnots. Feeling awesome not having to be in the shopfront all days.
Lately I also take students to make knives, quite a good feeling to see their smiles once the knife is done.

SWMBO and I now travels quite a bit also, generally in the East Asia region.
We might visit NZ before the end of the year - depending on SWMBO's schedule.

I hope you are all Ok.
Please do not hesitate to give me a yell if I can ease your burden in anyway.

All good here mate. Been busier than a one armed bricklayer in Baghdad preparing for my trip to the US in a week’s time.

Booked my flight out to the US a couple of days back.

Scrapped the plan to drive across the US for this trip due to time constraints.

Albuquerqe NM, on November 1st, then fly back to Atlanta November 6th & Drive up to Rome, GA. Then the next day over to Alabama & the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park for a day's long range stuff.
Back to Rome that night, then off into the AL wilderness to a mate's place for the annual gathering of reprobates, with some shooting, some barbecue & sitting around a fire outdoors until 02:00 drinking beer for three days & nights.
Then back to Albuquerque for 13 days before flying back to the UK on Thanksgiving ($300 cheaper than any other day).

Meanwhile, I need to get some deer stalking in, as there's no meat left in the freezers except for beef & rabbit...

Sounds like you have a very full itinerary like me mate. Love sitting around the fire, sinking a few quiet beers and telling lies until the wee small hours...nothing more enjoyable.

Another year again,
RUOK guys?

Over this last year I have achieved quite a bit.
Somehow retirement is much more busier and profitable then when I was working full time.

In the last year I lost a few friends, and a dog.
But at the same time I gain a few more new friends and a new puppy.

Overall I have quite happy life.

Not as good as I should be, but life goes on.
Being told your significant other doesnt love you any more and as the last child finishes school I am no longer required and we are apparently separating. This roughly lines up with my 60th and when I was going to retire, pay off the house and restructure our life so we could spend more time together. So by early next year once again single, no hope of buying another house, no shed, no job etc etc etc.
Never saw it comming.
Seems they call it menopause because Mad Cow Disease was already taken.

So yeah, not happy.

Look at the bright side, after this you would be free to do whatever you fancy without having to clear with the other side.

Pete...its one of those testing times in life....a kick in the guts ,is there any glimmer of resurecting things??? Just had the third rebuild of the right shoulder, my shotgun days are past I feel, apart from the odd bunny, 50 plus rounds just plain hurts.
I'm not shooting anything else atm either. I should find time to come down and rimfire something.

The only shotgun competition there is on the 2nd & 4th Sundays of the month
and the 5th if there is one
