It's been raining here for 30 hours now, with my rain gauge showing just shy of 6".

Drove through to Mum's with Christmas dinner (meals on wheels - she's only 4 miles away) & wouldn't have made it without a long detour if I didn't have a truck, as at one point the river was in the road about 18" deep.
Took my sister 9 hours to drive up from London (about 350 miles) due to flooding, spray & eejits aquaplaning into each other at stupid speeds.

Came home just now & the rain's turning to snow, with the roads starting to freeze up & no salting being done - not that they salt these little country roads anyway.

I think I'll stay home tomorrow, instead of taking a walk round one of my shoots. Sad

Wow, sounds like you are having a cold wet Christmas break mate. Well done looking after Mum mate...all too often the old folk are neglected at this time of year, and with the sort of weather you are having you need to look out for them.

My daughter flew into Gatwick from Paris this morning and she said it was the scariest flight she’s ever had. Bumpy and rough and when they came in to land, the aircraft was almost sideways.

A cold rain - I'll take that in snow. Wait, that much rain in snow would be 3 to 6-foot of accumulation. Yep, stay inside and stay warm!
