Les,
If you think you need it then find the best price and get it.
It seems to be a great gun and a decent long range cartridge.

Looks like a plan! I've been kinda drooling over the Ruger Precision myself. The 6.5 Creedmore is all the rage now. Very similar to the .260 Rem, which I really like (I've got two, so far...).
What scopes have you been considering?

work it backwards Les
what do you want to harvest??
what will that rifle do that what you have already wont do???
will that cartridge give you same margin for error ????
Im not knocking it but just because its the "new skid on the jock" doesnt make it any better than the old one.
personally I cant see it doing anything that any number of rifles already out there cant do a hell of a lot better.....without the new rifle price tag.
eg a bsa majestic .30/06 2nd hand over here might go $400 for a good one
there isnt much that walks the planet earth I wouldnt take on happily with that....I can load it right down to mild .308 loads If wanted,eg a 130grn pill going 2900ish or right up to 220grn whopper stopper load
or just a good accurate 180grn load for all and sundry.
just my 2 cents worth
I reckon give it 5 years and we will see a heck of a lot of them up for sale 2nd hand as it happening now with 300ACC/BLACKOUT
all the rage till you actually get to use it in less than ideal conditions.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. It has been ordered. Pumpkinslinger, not sure what scope I will get for it, definitely something with 6 to 24, want to reach out there. I have a Rem 700 7MM Mag with a BSA 6-24X50, that is great (first one was crap and sent it back). Elvis, not harvesting anything anymore, this is just a fun gun. And, yeah I have plenty of other calibers (270, (2) 7MM Mags the Remington and a Howa, a Savage 110 in .308 and a variety of other rifles). Just wanted it because of it's current reputation. Vince, yeah I have a couple other Savage's and they have performed admirably, frankly out perform the Remington, but not the Howa.
